CHANGING THE NARRATIVE SPEAKERS BUREAU AND PODCAST

THE UNITY PODCAST

the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something.

Changing the Narrative is a cadre of seasoned individuals who have been at the forefront of social change and involved in direct service for decades. Our expertise of lived experience is comprised of returned citizens, entrepreneurs, street soldiers, trauma, violence, and human trafficking survivors, and those in recovery. We know lived experiences are extremely valuable in narrowing the disparity in a world in which expertise, or who gets to be considered an expert, is shaped by systems of oppression, especially along racialized and gendered lines. Our method is to incorporate our lived experienced practices and solutions as a social movement, inspiring individual accountability and change and impacting change in human services practice interventions in
direct care programs and groups and offering training to those interested in incorporating the perspective of
lived experiences into their programs and groups.
